Looking Ahead to 2009

As always, the staff and crew of the Julia Belle Swain Steamboat have mixed feelings at the close of another season. We’ve had some wonderful successes and a few disappointments, but that’s life on a steamboat on the Mississippi, right? We’ve met fascinating people from around the world and been part of many memorable gatherings on the boat, including weddings, anniversary celebrations, and class reunions. It’s very satisfying to us when we see our guests enjoying the unique ambiance of our boat, experiencing this warm and welcoming background for their special occasions. We love showing off the many features of the vessel itself, showcasing the historic and scenic beauty of our ports here on the Upper Mississippi, and most of all, being part of once-in-a-lifetime events along with our clients.

We look forward to more of these distinctive cruises and dockside events next season. We’re planning a “Tribute to BB King”, which will feature great food and music and will be a Breast Cancer Benefit as well; one of our favorite bands, Switchback, will return for their annual “Mayfly Dance” with productions on shore as well as on the boat; there will be Cajun Dinners, a John Hartford Tribute, and a number of other entertaining journeys. We will partner with the La Crosse Historical Society again, and their charming and educational presentations will add an extra dimension to our cruises. Keep us in mind for your own special occasions, whether business, social or family. We love corporate meetings and parties, and benefit productions of all kinds.

Watch this space for details as our schedule is developed.
